Growing up in New England in what could be considered a fairly wealthy home at the time, Francis Albacore has never been a stranger to extravagance. And she has always shown that, from her dress to her speech to the company she keeps. The need for knowing how to dance at certain functions prompted her to learn, but soon she found she enjoyed dancing. This caused her to pursue professional instruction.

At first all she could manage to find in terms of instructors (mostly due to the region she was in and the attitude of dancing animals at the time) were those at her school. Francis was undaunted and went on to college, where she discovered the finer points of acting and met her first husband.

They married  in New York, and she soon found a job on a Broadway show. Seemingly a bit part, she played one of the unnamed fairies in Shakespeare's "A Mid Summer Night's Dream." This is what she marks as the beginning of her career. The production ended after a run of a year and a half, as did her first marriage with the untimely death of her husband. Grief-stricken and desperately needing  work, Francis found it increasingly difficult to remain in New York  She spent next few years moving from state to state through a succession of small roles and failed marriages.

After several years of refining her trade and doing shows in theaters from east coast to west, she decided to give Hollywood a try. Francis came to L.A. with high hopes and a  newfound dance partner, Cranston Goat.. The duo tried to break into the movies, but found that the barrier for animals was stronger here than anywhere else. This finally brought their official partnership to an end, but Francis and Cranston still remained friends and kept their dance skills alive on the side . Francis spent several years of doing bit parts, independent movies and working nightclubs before she took part in the breaking out of animal actors.

Her talent was now out for the world to see, and she took full advantage of it via film and dance competitions. Her work in major motion pictures includes the remake of "Casablanca," "The Witches of Eastwick" and "Twister." Despite these film successes, Francis found she missed the art of live performance and returned to the stage. She has now come full circle, headlining in "A Mid Summer Night's Dream," on the same Broadway stage where she started.
